Summary
The Ferryman has spent his existence worshipping Heaven. No matter his hardships in life or his injustices in the afterlife, his faith has been everlasting and unshaken. Its the reason why he had been given such a prestigious role in Hell's society, a creature continuing the task of guiding tormented husks to their afterlives.
But when disaster befalls the mortal word - when souls pour into Hell like a flood of sin and despair - the Ferryman slips below the waves, burdened with a role too wide for his old hands.
He is saved, impossibly, by a force he didn't expect. The Archangel Gabriel.
When Gabriel offers to take him in, he accepts immediately, hoping that maybe - against all the odds - he might still be worthy of salvation. Worthy of a place in Heaven like he'd dreamed.

Summary
Jupiter doesn't trust Ezra Squall.
He had been strongly against the idea of Morrigan learning the Wunderous arts from him. Squall was, after all, the vindictive Wundersmith who had tried to rule Nevermoor and caused the Courage Square Massacre a hundred years ago.
But then she'd had to agree, both out of promise and for her own training. So in order to keep Morrigan under some semblance of care - in order to act like the responsible adult he was meant to be - Jupiter does something foolish, and signs a Wunderous contract with Ezra that allows him to monitor Morrigan's education. Sporadic meetings - and in exchange, hes not allowed to intefere with Squall's tutelage.
He can't anticipate, though, how quickly that contract could be turned against him - and how quickly those meetings could dissolve into something darker.

Summary
Sisyphus only glared as Gabriel stepped forward, sword blazing with holy light. For the briefest instant, Gabriel’s head tilted sideways — not to Sisyphus, but to Minos. Something passed between them then — grief, perhaps, or regret, or simply the weight of the choice being made.
Sisyphus’s head struck the sand with a dull, final sound, his body slumping forward an instant later. His lips dripped with blood, still smiling widely into death.
Minos screamed.

Summary
Stasis mode is a mode that machines can be put in to conserve their blood. During this, they are deeply asleep, unable to respond to stimuli, and cannot wake up on their own - they are reactivated either by outside intervention, or a dangerously low fuel level.
After the Great War, many war machines were put into stasis
V1 has been trapped in his own body the longest.
20 years is a long time for a machine built to move.
This is set during the final extinction event of the humans, a couple of decades after the Peace began. Hell is bored and wants entertainment, so she wakes up all of the machines and tells them to go kill humans.

She was designed, built, experimented on and fed dreams of her purpose as a peacekeeper. A shiny new model, a machine made to smooth over the scars of war. Her dreams of usefulness could have touched the stars.

Animus magic has a cost.

She felt like a kicked dog. A broken-backed horse. Plodding on and on with an impossible weight on her back, spurred on by a cruel master. Like the fucking Polle statue that sat destroyed in the lounge, after a life of smiling and speaking cheerfully through every hardship and abuse. Jimmy had wrecked that statue; but Anya wasn't going to let him wreck her too.
Biting down on the sleeve of her discarded flight suit, she braced herself and drove the head of the wrench into her stomach.
