I really hate putting the 'Major Character Death' warning on this story because I know that many will automatically pass it by based on that alone. Yes, Valediction is a death-fic, but it is also a life!fic and a love!fic and my tribute to one of the greatest love stories ever told. I hope you'll take a chance and join me.

Summary
A new friend (thanks, Giotto!) pointed out that there are still people interested in Queer as Folk. I have 600 pages of this story typed up, the rest is still a manuscript - as in, handwritten. Actual pen, actual paper. The story itself is finished, it just needs typing and proof-reading. I think I'll have about 1,000 pages when I'm done.
I recently lost a lot of stuff due to a computer crash; so I decided to finally put this here, where it will hopefully be safe for a while. (I once did have the whole thing typed up. I'll do it one more time, but I really don't want to do that again after that!)
So. This story is my take on what happens when Justin returns from New York. Some places in Pittsburgh are my invention, others actually do exist, or rather, they existed at the time I wrote this. I used a lot of the characters we saw in the series, and I created a few more.
I'm not giving any warnings - if you watched QaF, you know what to expect. (I don't write explicit f/f, or f/m - the explicit m/m scenes all have Brian in them.) Hope you enjoy!

Summary
Brian Kinney had a terrible childhood and a difficult, lonely life as an adult. Before the age of thirty he's already become so jaded that he doesn't believe in love or even in true happiness. After years of dealing with a dysfunctional family and an uncaring world, it seems like he's just about ready to give up completely. But, the guardian spirit that's been watching over him since Brian was a baby decides to save him, teaching him that true love does exist and that it can even transcend the laws of space and time.

It's not because he wants to explore his 'feminine' side and it isn't because he's an 'effeminate gay', he just knows that it's about art.
Brian and Justin meet and have an undeniable connection but Brian isn't looking for someone this different and Justin isn't looking for anyone at all, especially not a man who is a bigger slut than himself and who can't see past Jewel and remember that underneath her, is always Justin.
Can they can accept one another and in doing so learn to accept all their desires?
