“Hm? Does that mean you’re agreeing to my terms?” he smirks, hands dancing up Ratio’s thighs, and slowing at his hips. “We have a little deal~? I get sex, you gain knowledge, and both our hunger is satiated?”

Ratio’s eyes narrow at the other's face before his gaze trickles lower again. He stays quiet, seemingly in contemplation as he weighs the pros and cons. “...I have one question, and you must answer it honestly.” he states, raising a hand. “Will I be harmed in any way from this interaction; or more importantly, will I die?” he asks, gesturing his hand forward. “You must shake before you answer. You demons are bound to be truthful in little pacts like these, I know…”
Aventurine shakes the man’s hand and snorts.
“You aren’t going to die, so morbid, the worst you’ll get is lethargic, I’m not inexperienced, I know how to feed without killing. Lightheadedness, sore hips, fuzzy memory, it’ll feel like a shit hangover. And I’ll be out of your hair with a full belly, hm?”

Ratio set his lips and then nodded.
“Very well, I agree to your terms, you said sex demons are born of ideas, elaborate.”

Or a demon falls hard and fast for a man that will forget him, surely if he keeps showing up that’ll change.

“Why does it not–” Kaveh’s voice ripped out in a whine. “Have you not thought about it at all since then?”

A long pause. The longest one yet. “Who says I haven’t?”

Lightning flashed through the window, illuminating Al-Haitham’s face. Half of it was still wrapped in shadow, blocked by Kaveh’s head, but he could see the distance between them measured, laid flat by the light. The lightning went. The room went dark. But the memory of Al-Haitham’s wide eyes did not leave him.

    What did he want?

    “Have you?” asked Kaveh.

“Have you?” Al-Haitham’s voice was so quiet, buried under the murmur of the rain.

Kaveh swallowed. “I mean…I thought that was obvious.”

Kaveh accidentally sleeps with Al-Haitham. And then...keeps sleeping with him.

    Summary

Veritas, very gently, places a hand on the front of Aventurine’s pants. “Did that excite you?”

He half expects Aventurine to fumble his words or not reply at all, but instead, he says, “An incredibly hot fish man just licked blood from my torso. How else would I react?” He says it like Veritas is the fool for thinking it wouldn’t.

“You find me to be good looking, then?”

This is what he decides to focus on.

“As a person with a working pair of eyes, yes. Definitely.”

    “I do not scare you?”

“You scare the fuck out of me,” Aventurine explains and Veritas is only a little confused with how human minds work, “but that is why you’re hot. And it helps that your body’s build would have gym bros on their knees.”

//or, veritas, a deep sea siren, has a chance encounter with a human and only ends up a little smitten

“I found the execution uncharacteristically sloppy for your standards,” Ratio admits. “The chip was indeed the variable that troubled me.”

Aventurine laughs, bright and amused, the sound brushing against Ratio’s ear like silk. “So you came to me for answers. As you always do, dear Detective.”

As a detective, Ratio’s life revolves around questions he can’t resist solving. But to someone like him, certain problems risk becoming all-consuming fixations, pulling him into the orbit of someone who has captured his attention more than any case could.

“Hah. Right. Considering that you already know my identity, I’m flabbergasted that you haven’t locked me up at the first chance.” Aventurine wryly smiled. “You should be lucky, though. That wallet of yours was very tempting.”

“And now what I’m hearing is that you’re a thief.”

“Woah, woah. I would never do such a heinous thing, Prince.”

    The man scowled.

    “Ratio.”

    Ratio?

Aventurine scoffed, tilting his head with a snarky expression. “Oh? So you want to keep up the commoner disguise and make me call you by your regular name? You’re basically telling me that I can use your identity as blackmail, Prin—”

Ratio glared. “I can out you for your offense if you want to try, Aventurine.”

    Or:

Prince Ratio is disguised as a commoner when he encounters a Mage who tries to wipe themselves from his memory.

Avenurine is a Mage who tries to wipe himself from a Prince's memory.

And they both didn't expect to encounter each other at a peaceful village a few days later.
