Summary
Eponine Thenardier has had it rough. Her parents only care about her to the point she can be of help to them. She wishes she was as strong as her brother Gavroche who ran away from her parents and their other siblings soon after they arrived in Paris. He was ten. It's her parents' fault she's so jaded, guarded. She tries to stem Montparnasse's advances. She isn't in loved with him. She's happiest when she's away from her parents and the Patron Minette, running through the streets with Gavroche or her best friend, Marius. But then the barricade rises and Eponine must make a choice about the future she wishes to live. Does she sneak around her parents, playing both sides - Les Amis and Patron Minette - or does she openly spy for one and break allegiance with the other?

“You and Combeferre have infinitely more chance of getting together than Enjolras and I,” Grantaire said with finality.
Courfeyrac sat up straight. Grantaire did not like the gleam in his eye as he slowly raised his finger in the air like an idea worthy of Einstein had just come to him.
“Are you quite sure of that sir?” Courfeyrac asked in a mock posh accent.
“Indeed I am, my good fellow,” Grantaire replied in the same way.
“Then monsieur, I challenge you to a little wager. I bet you that I can make Enjolras kiss you before you can make Combeferre kiss me.”
“What? Courfeyrac that is ridic-”
“Fifty euros says I can do it before you can. Just think, if you win you have fifty euros. If you lose Enjolras has just kissed you. It’s win-win situation.”
Grantaire blinked twice.
“So what are the ground rules?” -

Summary
Enjolras wakes up and it's yesterday. And it keeps on being yesterday, over and over again.
He's not an idiot, he knows his solution has to do with Grantaire, he's seen the damn movie, but there's a reason why he's avoided thinking of this thing between them for so long now.
He has all the time in the world to think about it now, though.

Summary
Grantaire's life has a pattern: he pays his respects to Aphrodite, he goes to work, he loves Enjolras and provokes him because he can't bring himself to do otherwise. That seems unlikely to change, at least until Enjolras speaks out against the gods and ends up cursed. Grantaire does his best to help him, but it turns out it's just as hard to love Enjolras up close as it is from afar.

The first thing that catches Enjolras's eye when he enters the Musain Cafe for the first time is the walls. They're a dull black that it takes him a moment to realize must be chalkboard paint, because near the tables there are words and doodles, and all over, even the erased sections are stained with faint colored marks like the walls have soulmarks.

“It’s obviously a secret admirer,” Courfeyrac tells Enjolras seriously. “Only instead of flowers and poetry, they serenade you with delicious food.”
Enjolras rolls his eyes. “They have a key to my room,” he reminds Courfeyrac. “They could kill me in my sleep.”

If his tattoo is right, Grantaire's soul mate wants nothing to do with him — and all before they've even met.
If Enjolras' tattoo is right, he's doomed to meet his soul mate when he loses his wallet — which is something he cannot allow to happen.
Sounds like a love story that writes itself, really.

“You aren’t. Believe me, I know the signs.” Grantaire sighs, and his breath mists in the air like cigarette smoke. “They love you in there.”

"Why are you calling me?" Éponine demands as soon as she answers Grantaire's call, her voice short and clipped. There's genuine concern lurking beneath the tone, though. "What happened? Your plane didn't explode, did it?"
"Unfortunately not." He's standing in the aisle, crushed between the over-cologned businessman in front of him and the man with shoulders like a linebacker behind as they all file forward, making glacial progress toward the front of the plane and freedom. "At this rate, I should be at baggage claim in twenty. Where's the nearest liquor store?"
She gives a laugh that's short and sharp and means she's more irritated than amused. "How the hell should I know? I'm your agent not your personal assistant, and I've never been to Boston before. Isn't that what your fancy smartphone's for?"
"My fancy smartphone is for being able to answer your emails while I'm in the air, or at line for Starbucks, or whizzing through the city in the back of a cab. Also for Candy Crush."

“So, let me get this straight,” says Combeferre after three rings. He sounds half asleep, and Enjolras winces. “Your crazy ex-convict of a father has decided that Cosette can only date people once you do?”
“Yes.”
There’s the sound of movement as Combeferre unplugs his phone and settles back against his pillows. “And you, somehow—stupidly, I might add—decided to make her happy by agreeing to date someone?”
“Yes.” There’s a very pregnant pause. Enjolras curls and uncurls his hands into fists.
“Right,” says Combeferre. “We’re having this conversation tomorrow.” And then he hangs up.

Grantaire’s never been big on celebrating his birthday because he hates the cake and the candles and people pretending that they care about you for propriety’s sake. He tells Joly that it’s late November and Courfeyrac that it’s early March, tells Feuilly he has leap year birthdays and Marius that he’s a Christmas child. He spends his birthdays alone, and that is fine.

Summary
According to Cosette, the café is only a few blocks away from his internship at the embassy. According to Cosette, the coffee is all fair trade, and the to-go cups are recycled, and her boss is really nice. According to Cosette all of the business protocols and hiring practices are entirely nondiscriminatory...
Apparently, nondiscriminatory hiring practices mean that they only hire ruggedly beautiful men with messes of black hair and the biggest blue eyes that Enjolras has ever seen.
*
Or Enjolras goes to a cafe to support Cosette and her new job, and inadvertently falls for a barista named R.
