Jaskier– as a would-be bard– was a practiced hand at smug hypocrisy. He delivered the comment as though he himself hadn’t only put things together when Geralt spelled them out in his letter.
“The guards couldn’t find their own pricks in the dark. Margaret said she was passing by when yesterday’s corpse was being carried out of the western dorms–” Margaret had said no such thing– “-and saw its hand fall out from under the sheet. Emaciated and bone-white–” Jaskier had no fucking idea what the corpse actually looked like. “-like a carcass after draining.” Just pure, wild, weaponized speculation.
(‘There’s a three letter word for that,’ Geralt told him once.)
The other students who’d been milling around their conversation, walking two steps behind or in front as plausible deniability, grew noticeably restless.
Good. Jaskier hoped it spread like wildfire, and that it kept his name attached to it. It was, after all, his husband they were going to need to kill it.

A nasty rumour about him conquering the continent because a witcher spurned his attentions has cause some misunderstandings. Such misunderstandings lead to the kings he has conquered giving him gifts of witchers that they scour their kingdoms for.
Our favourite witcher is given as a gift, and Warlord!Jaskier must be a force of change for this man who he has conquered the continent for.

After the mountain, Jaskier decides to grant Geralt his “life blessing” and dies. Well, he doesn’t die per say, he masterfully fakes his death. The second purpose is, of course, to escape the track from Nilfgaard that wants to know where Geralt and Ciri are. But as months flows by, a new force arises from the North. The witchers create a new empire on the Continent behind the banner of the White Wolf.
All is, kind of, good until someone recognize him as being Jaskier, the White Wolf’s bard from before the warlord rises and decides to bait Geralt into a peace treaty using him. The bard is absolutely sure it is not going to work because Geralt doesn’t care, the mind behind the plot is sure it is going to work and it does work. It works really - really - well. Just, not in the way, they though it would.Series

“Tony, I know,” said Rhodey, his tone soft. “We’ve all lost people, everyone has-”
“Don’t you think I know that?” Tony said angrily, yanking his wrist out of Rhodey’s grasp. He pulled back, but Rhodey lurched forward and grabbed his upper arms in a harsh grip, shaking him once.
“Damn it, Tony, this isn’t about winning the world’s best parent award,” Rhodey snapped. “There are millions of kids out there, millions, who’ve lost their parents and have nowhere to go.”
He caught Tony’s eye.
“That’s something you can do, Tony, give a kid a place to go.”

Seven-some months after the Snap, the world is still reeling from its loss. The city is overrun with countless orphaned children, so anyone even remotely capable of housing a kid is asked to pitch in. He was about to let Peter go when the siren shifted and gripped the cloth to its side tighter, hissing in pain.
“Oh and Parker,” the man’s hand came down sharp across his cheek. “We find you helping the beast again, we’ll make sure you’re the next meal."
As a ship's boy, Peter had been bored on the best of days and beaten on the worst, yet when his ship caught a dark haired siren in their net, everything changed.
