    Steve was in a bad mood for a few reasons.

    He hated his bad coffee, he hated his stuffy suits, and most of all, he hated HYDRA, which was clearly dead-set on ruining every aspect of his life. He hadn't felt quite right in nearly a year, when he and his fellow Avengers brought down the Triskelion and ousted HYDRA from SHIELD.

    When he accidentally runs into a young veteran at the VA who looks exactly like his long-dead best friend, Steve can't bring himself to focus, suspicious and reasonably distrustful that HYDRA is behind the imposter wearing his friend's face.

    He won't let himself get his hopes up. He will stay vigilant and as far away from the deceit as he can.

    But he can't stop the hope that Bucky Barnes might truly be alive from creeping in.
