Pearl doesn’t have anything to add, so she stays silent. She wants to talk more, if only to hear Gem’s voice, but she can’t conjure anything that’ll keep the conversation going. What else is there besides the fact that she thinks her roommate, lab partner, and advisor are working against her? How insane would that sound?
But Gem might understand.

“Gemini, Taylor.”
The words struck like a hammer on stone, reverberating in the heavy silence. For a moment, the air seemed to hold its breath. Then came the inevitable shift—dozens of heads turned in unison, necks craning to find her, their eyes sharp with pity, relief, or muted guilt. The crowd parted like water around her, a slow and somber wave of grays and blues, their muted clothing a reflection of their lives. Shoulders hunched, eyes averted, no one dared meet her gaze for long.
A Hunger Games AU, for the whole life series, told from Gem’s POV because i was watching the hunger games and wanted to see these characters in this setting!

Summary
It didn't take an idiot to know that maybe, just maybe, Yoonchae might be going into heat. Which was natural for omegas, but Yoonchae hadn't presented yet. So Megan decided to blame it on Yoonchae being at the wrong place at the wrong time and getting the smell off some random omega in heat. She ignored the fact that if Yoonchae maybe did actually present it would lead to certain.. ahem.. activities.
Or
Yoonchae hasn't presented yet, and Megan is scared for what comes next.
