Summary
Peter is Ned’s best friend, there is no doubt about it. Ned spends hours and hours improving himself to be the best guy in the chair possible, not because he wants the glory of helping Spider-Man, but because Peter Parker deserves people in his corner.
All this being said, Ned can’t help but feel bad about himself when he looks at Peter, and he hates himself for it.

He's not quite sure how to feel about this sudden change of pace.

I was binge-watching Gilmore Girls, and there's this scene with Logan and Rory that got me thinking. Logan tells Rory how she acts all high and mighty around rich kids, but in the end, she's just like them. Now add Peter being less mean – like, not mean at all – and being more likable. How do you think he'd react if he found out he's a trust fund kid after all?
