It doesn’t feel strange to be on the other side of the glass. It feels like sliding into a well-tailored suit, the shoulders resting like a loving pair of hands, fixing the buttons without complaint, nary a wrinkle. It feels like everything is as it should be, she thinks, surveying the main floor through the one-way mirror, smoothing her hand down the front of her vest, tracing one of the golden spirals.
On one of the monitors, the small red-light blinks at her, letting her know the motion sensors were set off, but she didn’t notice soon enough. The monitor screens show her an empty loading dock, but then there is a shift of shadows near the left corner of the one-way mirror. Samantha raises her serving tray above her head, twirling out of the way. If it were anyone else, Sam would make them move, and then Rhaenyra knows. In each flash of the ever-changing neon lights, Rhaenyra sees him, would know him by his height, his unhurried stride, Arryk trailing behind him.
Everything is as it should be. The door knob twists, and Rhaenyra takes a deep breath.
Almost, she adds as Arryk opens the office door and Otto Hightower enters.

Until the day comes where she is now six and ten - and he finds she is everything he has always wanted except she no longer wants him.
Loosely, and I mean loosely based off of The Swan Princess movie. A childhood favourite of mine.

There’s a fire in her eyes, one that threatens to burn him alive.
“Speak plainly, wife.”
He knows what she’s talking about. He would be a fool if he didn’t. Still, Daemon needs her to put to words precisely what she means—that she leaped to believing the worst of him without even a single conversation between them. He needs her to tell him that she has chosen to trust others over her own husband.
“A sapphire eye means little when I asked for a head.”
Daemon survives the battle above the Gods Eye, only to be faced with a far more daunting task: finding a way to salvage his marriage. Despite his victory, he has lost his wife’s trust. In turn, he finds himself full of resentment at her continued insistence that he has betrayed her. Yet, he can’t live without her, which means he has little choice but to continue fighting for his queen, for his family, and for their legacy.
