“I’m volunteering,” Enjolras tells him, feeling vaguely sheepish and wondering if he’ll get thrown out now, and if so, what will he tell Monsieur Valjean. He holds up his knife roll and apron as proof.
“Oh, are you now?” The man turns back to him with a smirk. “That’s just lovely. Community service, probably. Bet you don’t know a thing about food.”
Enjolras does not dignify this with a response. If this idiot doesn’t recognize him from the review in the Observer, he’s not going to spell it out. Instead, he turns away to tie on his apron and lay out his knives. “You won’t need those,” the man says behind him. “Not that I’d trust you to use them, anyway.” Enjolras grits his teeth and puts his paring knife on his steel, honing the already sharp blade. The rasping does nothing to drown out the mocking voice behind him. “Do you know how many people you could have fed with what those knives cost?”
Enjolras whirls, rage rising. “Do you know how many people I’ve fed with these knives?” he growls. “Do you know anything at all?”

Grantaire works in Patisserie-La Barricade with Cosette, Eponine and Jehan. One day a Greek God walks in, and that's insane, because the last time Grantaire checked, they most certainly didn't sell either nectar or ambrosia.
He can pick from all this chocolate and Cosette’s masterpieces and fondant au chocolat and babas and charlottes. He picks a stinking dry croissant instead.
Grantaire can't take the fiery dark eyes and the golden locks out of his mind and he is absolutely certain that the need to touch a stranger's collarbone is not exactly considered to be normal.
When Apollo comes again, Grantaire is determined not to let him walk out of the door if not with something more than a croissant. -

Summary
There are good baristas. There are bad baristas. And then there's Enjolras.
To be fair, he's only working in the world's worst coffee shop because nobody but Mr. Valjean would ever give a job to a futureless hooligan with an ever-growing arrest record. The highlight of his painfully boring workday is this one asshole who always stumbles in and orders impossibly complicated coffee thirty minutes before closing. Enjolras really wishes he didn't want to rip Grantaire's clothes off whenever they start talking political theory, or when Grantaire treats him like the law student he thinks Enjolras is instead of like a man who spends most of his free time writing angry letters and punching people.
