It’s a little lonely, but it allows for great indulgences. He drags his fingertips over the fuzz at the back of Essek’s head, lingering on the sensation for five whole minutes. He admires Essek’s bone-white lashes and the skin of his eyelids, thin and delicate like a butterfly’s wings. Seeing them flutter, he presses careful kisses there, too.
“Are you dreaming, Süßer?” he whispers. “Are you dreaming of me?”
He drags in air, exhales slow.

Caleb needs to blow off a little steam too, or at least his friends think so. They arrange for a bit of companionship for him for the evening. Neither of them is at all what the other expected.
