Feng Xiao unhurriedly waved himself with a fan, as he sat in front of Cui Buqu in a languid manner. “Daoist Cui, why be so fierce? Of course, I have a reason to be here!”
“Which is?”
“You are here, so naturally, I'm here too!”

Besides, he hadn’t even been anywhere recently besides the villa with Yan Wushi and if that wasn’t the safest place in the world then Shen Qiao didn’t know what was—
And that’s when Shen Qiao had an uncomfortable thought.
Even though Yan Wushi wasn’t above teasing Shen Qiao with potions or certain creative techniques, Shen Qiao knew in his heart that was not the case (this time). But now that Yan Wushi had come to mind, Shen Qiao realized that this particular feeling wasn’t totally unfamiliar, wasn’t quite as foreign as he’d originally thought…
It was just that usually it stayed locked behind a warm haze of blurry memories and was relatively temporary, resolved (after being caused) by Yan Wushi—
Shen Qiao’s face burned with the realization:
