Alan’s eyes met hers, those cool blue eyes meeting her own grey, and with a resigned sigh, he deflated and nodded slowly.
“For tonight.”
“For tonight,” she echoed.

Those words uttered by Monomoko in its deadpan voice echoed endlessly within Ken Hasegawa’s head. He wandered the vacant halls of Fujioka Memorial High School as if in a daze, letting the memory of those words guide him on his aimless path through the desolate building.
“This verdict is incorrect.”
He’d done it.
He’d actually done it.
He’d succeeded where so many others had failed.
He’d managed to outsmart the killing game and get away with murder.

Summary
“What’s going on?” Okazaki wondered.
Their plan had worked. It definitely had. The body discovery alert had gone off, the trap had clearly activated judging by its hulking presence in the doorway, and yet… it hadn’t killed either of the two people Okazaki had set it for.
Both Tsuno and Wada were standing there in the flesh, panicking just as much as everybody else was. It was undeniably, unmistakably them, no magic tricks involving smoke and mirrors. They were alive.
And if they were alive, that meant-
Okazaki wordlessly pried Tamba off of them despite her protests, and forced their way through the crowd of students. Their frantic wailing and screeching faded into a distant, rumbling bass as they got closer and closer to the doorway. Their large fur coat swept them aside like the parting of the Red Sea, and with each step forward, the hollowing pit in Okazaki’s gut whistled louder and louder.
Finally, they were at the front of the crowd, and the fear they felt met its source.
There, in the doorway, skewered through the torso by the ingenious trap they’d set, was the one person Okazaki hoped it wouldn’t be.

Summary
Marcille could feel the blood rushing to her cheeks, and her tongue felt like a dead fish in her mouth as she tried getting it to work.
“W-What are you getting at?” she squeaked, knees knocking together.
The Winged Lion leaned ever closer, and fell to its knees. Even then, it still dwarfed her, and its curling black horns only made the tight squeeze in Marcille’s gut wrench even tighter.
“What I’m getting at,” it purred, a contemporary phrase sounding alien on its lips, “is that in order to fully connect as one, we need to be intimate with each other.”
Its yellow eyes glittered. “Fuck, as you Elves would say.”Marcille thought she would just about die from embarrassment. Never in her wildest dreams would she have thought those would be the words to fall from this monster’s mouth, and it made her whole body stiffen up like somebody had shoved a spear up her ass.
“WHAT?!” she shrieked, her voice ten octaves higher than usual. “ARE YOU MESSING WITH ME?”
Here she was, being propositioned for sex by a monster! Marcille had half a mind to go diving headfirst out of the window to avoid this unbearable conversation. -

Summary
The Diamond’s pastel hair sparkled in the light, and her pink eyes twinkled with curiosity as she silently inspected a ladybird making its steady way across the length of one of her gloved fingers. Pearl watched her Diamond, unblinking, focused on the larger Gem’s own look of concentration. The slightly knitted eyebrows, the small, almost unnoticeable upturn of one side of her mouth.
Things that other Gems in her court had likely never noticed, partially because they were never permitted to get too close to her.
But Pearl considered herself incredibly lucky to not just notice all these small details about her Diamond, but to be the only one who got to see them like this.
