Summary
Simon loves his job. He loves being the first line of defense on the worst day of people's lives, his extensive background in some of the most Hellish pits of the world giving him a level head and the ability to quickly triage and reassure, get people where they need to go so that they can be saved. The wail of incoming sirens is his new background of gunfire, the rush of people around him feels more like home than anywhere else. The scent of blood and the beeping of machines keeping someone clinging to life before the doctors get their hands on them is familiar as a heartbeat.
People have a much better chance of survival in the hospital than they do in the field. At least, when Simon's at the helm.
The only dark mark in his job is MacTavish.

Summary
"You love watching me."
It never really mattered where or how — Ghost keeping him in his crosshair, watching his back, seeing Soap shoot and slice and quench a life or watching him play a rabid dog hungry for spoils in a dingy outskirt bar.
And Soap — hell, does he enjoy being watched by him. Would do pretty much anything to keep Ghost's eyes on him, and he's pretty sure Ghost has caught up on that a long time ago.

"You should get what little rest you still can before daylight," Mr. Riley breathed, causing John to repress a shiver at the warmth of breath against his skin.
"Will you be okay?"
"You've done enough..." a pause. "Goodnight, Johnny."
Johnny. No one ever called him that and yet it felt right hearing it said in the low grumble of the other man's voice.
"Alright," John reached up, bumping his fist against Mr. Riley's shoulder and stepping back. Already missing the subtle heat of closeness the second it was gone.
"Sleep well... Simon."

Summary
The forest is a dangerous place for a rabbit to be by himself. It's also quite lonely if Soap were to tell the truth.
That is, until he catches the eye of another forest dweller and makes an unlikely friendship with him, despite the...conflicting...nature of their species.
