Summary
After Caine's return to the Circus, everything changed drastically. With the truth finally revealed, the inhabitants of that digital world decided to move on and build a new routine. For the first time in a long time, the future seemed promising, and the idea of a happy ending finally seemed possible.
One year later, during a visit to Jax, who had remained trapped in a state of abstraction, Pomni experiences a breaking point that leads her to fall into the same fractured state as her friend. What begins as a moment of despair unexpectedly becomes the bridge that connects them once again.
Their reunion within that strange space between reality and abstraction shatters the barrier that had kept them separated, allowing them both to finally find their way back to the Circus.
But returning was only the beginning.
Now, with Jax back by her side, Pomni is faced with a question far more difficult than simply bringing him back:

It's been months since Jax abstracted. Pomni has been finding it impossible to move on, not that she would admit it to the others. She has to be strong, if only not to worry her friends. Though, one night, while looking over an old "asset" for Caine, she finally says what's been on her mind since that tragic day:
"I wish you would come back to me."
And unbeknownst to her, Jax did come back.
This is not a good thing.
(Post-Episode 9 story where Jax is brought back as a slasher villain, what could possibly go wrong?)
