Everything in Sunny's life was fine.
He had a friend group of five that he loved and cherished, an older sister who cared for him, a quaint cottage on the border of the woods, a violin that he’d play echoing songs on, and most importantly, a fairly normal life for a village boy, despite the rumors of what happens and lies beyond Faraway Village.
Everything was fine, until Sunny decided to go into the Vast Forest. That’s when just a boy shattered his perspective. A faun boy named Basil.

Basically, in which the fight between Mari and Sunny before the recital never happened, it’s a fantasy world, and Sunny meets a faun named Basil, much later than he does in canon. Fic title from the song Oats We Sow by Gregory and the Hawk.

Only two chapters out at the time I’m bookmarking this, but this fic is REALLY GOOD so far. Lots of fun dynamics and scenes in it, with an extremely interesting premise. I also haven’t seen any racing AUs around (especially set in Formula One), and that makes this story really unique!
Just as the tags say, this fic really is a good time. I ABSOLUTELY recommend reading it, even if you aren’t familiar with Formula One. I wasn’t when I first read it, but the fic works even with that limited knowledge. It’s worth it for all of the ways it’s beautifully written!!
Edit (12/22/23): Now that chapter 3 is out, make sure to heed the warnings from the tags as well! This fic is about healing, so nothing that happened in the past is written explicitly, and the author has provided warnings for what readers may not want to go through. Take care of yourself while reading!!

I was reading this one as it came out, and each update was even better than the last. If you like fantasy AUs, curses, fun worldbuilding, and a story about characters learning to trust each other and eventually falling for each other, I ABSOLUTELY recommend reading this. I loved it and it stands as one of my favorite jmart fics!!
