"Brenda!"
A voice carried her out of the thoughts. Her head snapped to a side, her barely shoulder length brunette hair swishing in front of her face briefly to cover her vision. She turned her gaze to the voice's origin and relief flicked in her chest momentarily at the sight of the boy, the whole reason they were in this cursed city again, it was a success! But something was wrong: the silhouettes that followed him were two too few. She double checked that Thomas & Newt weren't just slightly behind but atlas they didn't come up around the bend, only Gally was at his side. Of course there had to be some hiccup; this was awfully too easy. The spark of hope she had felt for a moment kept to her before it dropped dead.
Or; Death cure but Brenda gets to Newt soon enough.

He didn’t move as the door hissed open. A lone Stormtrooper stood in the doorway. Interesting. They usually came in pairs.
“Aren't you a little short for a Stormtrooper?” Thomas asked, not bothering to sit up, even though the blood was rushing to his head.
The Trooper just stood there. Actually, he wasn’t short at all. Thomas just enjoyed mocking the Imperial lackeys. Normally, they ignored his jabs, but this one seemed startled.
“Huh? Oh, the uniform,” the Trooper muttered, his voice muffled by the helmet. He pulled it off, revealing a young man’s face. “I’m Newt Skywalker. I’m here to rescue you!”
Thomas raised an eyebrow, which probably looked ridiculous with him still hanging upside down. “You’re who?”or: Thomas is a Rebel captured by the Empire and Newt Skywalker and Min Solo come for his rescue while not bothering to answer any of Thomas' questions.
(This is basically based on a gif of Newt and a scene from Star Wars - A New Hope.)

They’re about four days into their journey through the Scorch when Thomas notices it.
Newt's leg is giving him trouble.
And that's an issue—just slightly, because Newt is touchy about his leg on a good day, but now, for some reason, he seems absolutely hellbent on avoiding Thomas's help at any cost, even if it means he has to limp around in pain all day.
Thomas doesn't understand, and Newt only gives half-answers, bats him away, until he can't outrun the truth any longer.
They talk about it.

Thomas flew up from his seat and turned towards Gally, his whole body trembling, whether it was from anger or exhaustion he didn’t know, “Never call him that again Gally.”
After a nasty gunshot wound to the stomach, Thomas must acknowledge both the physical and mental aspects of recovery while also searching for a very missing, very infected Newt.

Obi-Wan felt a flare of irritation, and quickly squashed it. The old man blinked, as if he hadn’t expected to feel that, and he smiled, sadly. “My name is Luke,” he said, as if a peace offering.
The force trilled in his ear, and Obi-Wan frowned. "Luke what?" He asked, and the old man, this Luke, smiled wryly.
