George face-plants right into Dream’s chest, limbs heavy with tiredness, as a groan emerges from the depths of his chest. “No. ‘M asleep. Mimimi…”
“You were awake this whole time?” Dream asks. George hums a lazy affirmation. “And you didn’t think of letting me know so I didn’t have to walk you to the room?”
“Mm. No,” George argues. “I like it when you walk me.”

Every romance movie he's ever watched must have gotten it wrong, with all their unnecessary pining and dramatic declarations of love. When, really, all it takes is homemade pancakes, deep conversations over a McDonald's milkshake at four in the morning, and retellings of Greek mythology in a hot tub under the stars.

They couldn’t possible talk about this, not even when Dream moved his hand closer, his fingers brushing his thigh just above his knee. Sapnap was still streaming, his voice blatantly clear in the background of their little moment shared on said best friend's bed.It was all new.
And his heart was a beating drum in his chest.
George was used to dissect the voice on his phone for years. The inclination of his tone and intent of words.
This was the complete opposite.
They had to relearn how to communicate.
or George has finally arrived in Florida in the middle of November. He hadn't been prepared for a shift in his relationship with Dream that felt almost as easy as breathing.

Things had been…well, different, to say the very least. In the aftermath of Belos’ demise and de-puppetfying everyone, Hunter had been given multiple offers in terms of housing from the various adults, Darius included.
And after shifting through and considering his options, Hunter had chosen here.
Just acknowledging it made something warm and cold burst inside of Darius’ chest like fireworks. He hadn’t allowed the nerves to visibly wrack him in front of the kid, wanting to become some semblance of a grounded figure he could rely on without doubt.

“No, I’m fine.” Hunter said and Darius almost laughed at that. “You very clearly aren’t. Hunter, let me take care of you and you won’t be as miserable.”
“‘M not miserable.” Hunter whined. “Can you stand up straight then?” Darius asked, getting more and more exasperated by the minute. Hunter looked at him like Darius just asked him to kill someone.
