Summary
Disheartened after the Battle of Hogwarts, feeling lost and alone, Hermione is offered the chance to go back in time to save countless lives. A unique time turner exists, waiting for the perfect person who could guarantee their success, and now that Voldemort has been defeated, Hermione would know how to replicate that outcome again, ensuring fewer lives lost.
But her travel goes awry, the anchor point she's supposed to be pulled to is compromised, and Hermione ends up in a different year and location than she ever expected. During the battle at the Department of Mysteries, Harry managed to nick a time turner "just in case" and uses it to go back and save Sirius Black.
But Harry and Hermione don't notice the inscription "errata corrige, futura corrige"- fix the wrong, fix the future. When the time turner stops spinning, it's not just a day they traveled, but 15 years. It's 1981.
