Peter thought he died. He should've. But then again when he wakes up on a cargo ship, alone in a cage- he starts to rethink if actually did die. It soon becomes clear that either way if this was reincarnation, dimension travel or anything else- he was stuck here now. Stuck in this new, strangely bleak city called Gotham.
He has gone through a lot recently; dying, getting thrown into another universe, being homeless for a bit etc etc. So when he loses his coffee on the sidewalk to a very polite man who just so happens to be a butler, how was Peter supposed to know it would change the entire trajectory of his new life?
Yet strangely enough, he wouldn't have changed it for anything.

REWRITE OF: Time Flies By (Bye) but with some fun (and angsty) changes!
“So that was a total failure.”
At least saying it out loud helps because those phone calls sure didn’t. In fact, they only confirmed the worst of panic-stricken ideas that have been looming in a space of Peter’s mind he calls “The Irrational Panic Zone.”
The Irrational Panic Zone (Peter almost wants to trademark it) includes thoughts such as: “Everyone actually remembers me but pretends that they don’t because they hate me,” and, “I killed my aunt,” and, “Your neighbor is actually a spy for Nick Fury because he knows everything and is a horrible, horrible man,” and, “It’s your fault Thanos won the first time,” and, most recently, “This is not your universe.”
Y’know. Thoughts that would send him into a totally rational panic at any given moment, making it therefore irrational to think about them. It all works out.
(Or, Peter Parker wakes up in Gotham and no one is particularly happy about it.)

Summary
Pensieves are dangerous instruments of great power, capable of impossible feats. Mixing blood and memories was a recipe for greatness and disaster.
At the height of the war in Dumbledore's Office, Snape's blood and Harry's blood fall into the basin, entangled with the memories, and it changes the course of the world as those memories come to life. Thrown backwards into 1975, Harry and Snape are forced to adapt to danger and drama from all angles.
Oh, and Harry's eyes absorb that which changed him - one red as blood, the other silver as memories - leaving him completely blind. How will that vulnerability change the way Snape views him?
