Summary
"Maybe," Peter thought, "I can make a life here."
Hence the tears and the guilt and the grief, because was Peter allowed to move on? Was he allowed to… to leave it all behind? Leave all the bad things in the past?
Peter was "The Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man!" after all, and wasn’t he letting Queens - his people - down if he didn’t fight tooth and nail to get back to them?
orPeter's tired. He's so tired, and he doesn't know what to do, but maybe things will get better.
(They do.)

REWRITE OF: Time Flies By (Bye) but with some fun (and angsty) changes!
“So that was a total failure.”
At least saying it out loud helps because those phone calls sure didn’t. In fact, they only confirmed the worst of panic-stricken ideas that have been looming in a space of Peter’s mind he calls “The Irrational Panic Zone.”
The Irrational Panic Zone (Peter almost wants to trademark it) includes thoughts such as: “Everyone actually remembers me but pretends that they don’t because they hate me,” and, “I killed my aunt,” and, “Your neighbor is actually a spy for Nick Fury because he knows everything and is a horrible, horrible man,” and, “It’s your fault Thanos won the first time,” and, most recently, “This is not your universe.”
Y’know. Thoughts that would send him into a totally rational panic at any given moment, making it therefore irrational to think about them. It all works out.
(Or, Peter Parker wakes up in Gotham and no one is particularly happy about it.)

Summary
Sometimes, Peter hates himself. It’s hard not to, when the guilt and grief and weight of the world press down on his shoulders, grinding him into the ground in a truly awful way, suffocating and stifling Peter into a horrible sort of silence. But when Peter’s quiet - when Peter is quiet, because there are people who know Peter now, who know him, who know how quiet he can be (how quiet he is) when something is really wrong - there are those who can make the noise for him, who can break the silent and overhanging doom of "what if" with their beautiful, beautiful presence: their impossible-to-silence selves, who make noise when Peter feels like he can’t. Like he doesn’t deserve to.
OR
Healing doesn't occur overnight. It takes time, but luckily, Peter has people who can catch him when he stumbles.

Summary
Peter is pretty good at lying to himself: he’s practically an expert at it.
But the lies are like an open sore festering under wet and sloppy bandages, and eventually shit goes south, the wound gets infected, and then a minor problem becomes a real problem, because Peter thinks that Spider-Man feels like a vice around his heart that keeps on squeezing tighter and tighter.
AKA
Being Spider-Man is kinda a lot, knowing that Doc Ock is a criminal in other universes is not as deterring as it should be, and Peter really just wants to ask Johnny to move in with him.
(reading the other fics before this is helpful, but not necessary, i think)

Summary
Peter has always stood under the rain in search of absolution: to wash away the blood that soaks his hands and his life.
...He doesn't have to do that anymore.
OR
A character being submerged in water normally symbolizes rebirth or a change, or the washing away of something.
(Peter's doing alright.)
