    The steps started up again, unhurried and careful, and then someone was chuckling.
    “They sent a Witcher?” A light voice asked, almost musical in tone. “They must really be worried.”
    “Yeah, you went after an Omega!” Lambert snapped at the bandit.
    “Hey, I only went through her bag,” the voice corrected, coming closer. “…Now what should I do with you?”

    Or: Lambert gets a little careless on a job, and ends up held captive by the bandit (Jaskier) he was hired to catch.
    Only things don't really make sense about this bandit.

    All Witchers that had come home, of course. Not everyone had that opportunity, and a scant few never even got to know about the creation of the Wolflands, or the laws and protections that oversaw them.
