As he slowly loosened his grip and extracted his fingers, it was revealed to be a mask. Robin's mask. "I'm sorry," Roy's voice cracked as he spoke. "I couldn't find him."
Batman doesn't say a word, and he just stares at Roy. Slowly he reached out and took the mask out of the boy's hand. Roy couldn't see the man's face, but he wouldn't even want to after what he's done and what he failed to do. Everyone had called him crazy for even believing that Robin was still out there.
Roy couldn't take the quiet anymore, so he talked over the silence. "I wanted to believe he wasn't dead, but… I was wrong. And I'm sorry. I'm so fucking sorry."

In which for years, Roy Harper has blamed himself for the death of his former team leader, Robin. After being unable to live with the guilt, he quit his role as Green Arrow’s sidekick. He retired as Speedy, never wanting to step foot into the superhero world again.
But his retirement is interrupted when The Titans ask for his help with catching Deathstroke’s newest apprentice. He puts the costume on one last time to help his friends but only to end up coming face to face with the one boy he swore died four years ago.

Summary
The Justice League needs every available weapon when dimensional fractures begin tearing reality apart—even Deathstroke.
Dick can handle being partnered with Slade. He can handle pretending they don't know each other's fighting styles, tells, bodies and bad habits far better than two supposed enemies have any right to. He can even handle Slade flirting with him over an open comm while Batman listens to every word.
What he apparently **cannot** handle is being alone with Slade, high on adrenaline, with thirty minutes to spare and a conveniently secluded cave nearby.
Unfortunately, Batman monitors his vitals. And Bruce Wayne has never met a suspicious discrepancy he couldn't turn into an investigation.
