Summary
Mori had gone too far, the gashes even more profound than usual. It hurt really bad, even though he deserved it. He kept regressing, kept acting like a child. And that was bad. Dazai was bad. When he was regressed, he was unable to regulate and mask his emotions in this state, and unable to cope with the pain of just a few cuts. His anxiety was flaring and made him even younger. He hated this.
He hisses as he runs water on the cuts from the scalpel, and tears gather in his eyes. He hates this. He hates being a baby. It's just a few cuts, he's been injured far worse and didn't even cry. He was a pathetic crybaby.
Anxiety continues to build in his chest, and tears threaten to spill. God, he's so pathetic. He knows he needs to get home to his shipping container, where it's safe and he can bandage his cuts up, but he can't right now. He has to get out of here to get home, but unfortunately, people would see him. See his tears and cuts that everyone would probably think Dazai inflicted on himself.
And he can't allow everyone to actually see how pitiful he is.

Mori punishes Dazai for age regressing, but thankfully, Chuuya is there to take care of his baby.

Chuuya opens the screen of his phone only to find messages from a dating app he’s pretty sure he deleted. He thinks he deleted it because everyone there looked like shit, assholes, or just weren’t his type. He liked what? Three people? He's genuinely surprised to find out the tall brunet he liked matched with him.
[Dazai Osamu]: This is a pleasant surprise.
[Dazai Osamu]: Didn’t think you’d find me attractive.
[Dazai Osamu]: No wait! Of course you would!! I’m insanely handsome, after all.Chuuya stares at the messages for a moment. This Dazai guy sounds like a bastard, but Chuuya has to admit he is insanely handsome. He supposes it won’t hurt to reply.

Chuuya meets Dazai through a dating app which leads to them having mind-blowing sex together only for Chuuya to learn the next day that Dazai is, in fucking fact, the Executive of Mori Corporation who’s been overseas for the past three years. But what’s the problem? Well the problem is that Chuuya can’t look Dazai in the eyes. Not after all the things he said, thinking he’d never need to see Osamu again. Honestly, fuck him (Dazai did, multiple times) and his life.

"Chuuya—"
"Don't fucking—*don't!* Fucking SPARE me! I don't need your or anyone else's help! You are the LAST person who has the right to offer me anything! FUCK!” Chuuya shrieks, then he collapses onto the floor screaming.
The floor shatters under him as For the Tainted Sorrow roars in his veins.
“Shit,” he curses, watching fragments of the floor start to float up around him. “Shit-shit-shit!"
His hands are shaking, but he can’t get gravity to respond. He can’t get his own body to respond.
Then a cool hand lands on his shoulder, and everything clatters back to the ground.*“I won’t leave you.”*
Or, Chuuya breaks, and Dazai spends a year putting his pieces back together, no matter how many times he cuts his fingers on their sharp edges.
At the end, they’re both softer for it.Epilogue starts at chapter 39!
