Mashita goes for a routine investigation that ends fatally and something comes back in his place. Yashiki has barely any sense to go for grief counselling because dealing with an eldritch being that has all the memories, mannerisms and flaws of your closest friend with tons more to boot tends to take a lot of your energy.
