As the sun rises over the kingdom, a pre-dawn conversation between both hedgehogs also helps them reach... well, not quite a mutual understanding, but progress is progress! “Good luck,” Lancelot gives Sonic one of those rare-half smiles, the type that desperately makes him want to make the knight fully smile someday, before Lancelot is pulling the door open, “Let me know if there is anything I can do for you, Sir Sonic. I’ll check in on you again in a week or so-“
A week?! Lancelot showed up just to rile him up, and now that the Werehog was desperately horny, the knight was just going to leave? Bastard. Sonic uses his more flexible Werehog anatomy to reach out and grab Lancelot, hooking his arm around the knight’s chest and pulling him away from the door. The force of their collision startles a small grunt out of Lancelot and a moan out of Sonic, keeping one hand loosely curled around the knight’s slim waist. Not enough to keep his knight trapped, but enough to keep Lancelot in place as he gently plays with that cute tail.
“Stay,” Sonic nuzzles the back of Lancelot’s neck, heedless of the sharp quills poking at his head, teeth grazing the soft fur and sensitive flesh, "Please."

Summary
Nicky cuts herself off with a squeak as Shadow hugs her tightly, and the the black hedgehog’s voice is thick with emotion, “Thank you. I should have known a girl would be the only one with the balls to do what’s necessary."
Shadow continues talking as she rolls herself onto her back, pulling up the hem of her pajama shirt until- Nicky fixes her eyes on Shadow's face as her cheeks flush, and it takes all of her willpower to keep her eyes from drifting down, “As hard as you can in the heart- don’t hold back.”
Nicky looks down at the wooden stake, holding it in her hands like a baton. The stake is actually quite light but feels so heavy in her hands, “You need to make sure to kill me instantly so I can’t hurt you or anyone else again.”

Fact: Shadow the Hedgehog is trapped in No Place. Sonic is unreliable, so he'll have to find his own way out, too.
Fact: Captain Dread has a ship AND the shard, both of which Shadow needs. Dread and his crew are also able to command the ship, which Shadow cannot do on his own (yet), so he needs them.
Fact: Dread is attracted to Shadow (only natural, of course) and is willing to negotiate shard ownership. While Shadow wouldn't normally bother, it makes no strategic sense to burn this bridge while he still needs it.Fine. Shadow has struck worse bargains for the use of his body (although never in such an intimate way...) and this is a small price to pay in exchange for the restoration of his world and friends. Besides, as soon as this is all settled, this will be nothing but a bad memory, right?

“That is exactly the reason I have brought you here, my king,” the hedgehog doesn’t stop petting his hair, and Gawain’s eyes flutter shut when Lancelot begins to groom his muzzle. He feels those rough hands gently rub at the bags under his eyes, trace the wrinkles deepened by cares and joy and sorrows and laughter over the years.
“Mmm,” Gawain hums as he decides this cause is lost. Damn Lancelot’s incredibly comfortable lap. He turns his face so his snout is pressed against Lancelot’s stomach, doing his best to wrap his arm around the hedgehog’s waist.

“The thing about battlefield plans, Angel, is that they gotta be flexible,” Renegade murmurs into the side of Shadow’s neck as wraps his arms around the hedgehog's hips, “Adaptable.”
"Mmm," Shadow hums as he tips his head back with a pleased sigh as the echidna kisses along his neck, laying his arms over Renegade's own.

1. Pep Talk: Lancelot is not very fond of Galahad's teenage years. It's sweet his son is trying to defend his honor, but it is very annoying Galahad is having second thoughts about following through on the fight /he himself/ picked! A Dad's work is never done.
2. Knight to Knight: Lancelot and Gawain play chess as they discuss the recent adventure of the Knight of the Wind. Gawain has his issues with it. Lancelot does not. But at the end of the day, life goes on.
3. Fate Smate: Sonic and Gawain chat about destiny and future, and Sonic can understand why Merlin wasn't super popular- doom-and-gloom prophecies don't make you a lot of friends, even if the ones listening to it are super desensitized by now.
4. Blooded: Sir Lamorak participates in his first tournament and is wounded grievously, and as he lays agonizing on his death bed, is surprised to find aid comes from an unlikely source- aloof, cold Lancelot and his family's bitterest enemy Gawain.

Gawain is still livid. He can’t trust himself to speak, because he knows he won’t be able to keep the vitriol in. He doesn’t understand *why* Lancelot is acting this way! What could possibly possess Lancelot to protect such a vile woman from the filial condemnation she so richly deserves!! But he can’t take it out on Galahad. Gawain swallows his anger and will make the knight explain himself as soon as they get back.
But accepting this and not trying to do anything sits in Gawain’s gut heavily, like a stone. It goes against his vows of knighthood, the ideals of justice and truth he promised to uphold, and worst of all, festers like a rotting wound in the heart of the people he loves best. The sheer unfairness of it all feeds the rage inside like a fire, and all he wants to do is shake Elaine of Corbenic’s castle until the stones all fall on her head.
The words of that strange girl, with a voice as old as time and eyes as deep as the ocean, echo in his skull, “Sir Gawain of Orkney. Be careful that you are willing to see through to the end the things you set in motion.”

Summary
Lancelot wanted to introduce Sonic to someone, so he should have expected a familiar face. And, well, this is a familiar-ish face. Light gray fur, piercing golden eyes, weird front quills- This is undoubtedly Silver the Hedgehog.
Except this is very much not a angry young adult and is instead a very serious-looking baby. Sonic holds Silver the Hoglet up to his face, watching the baby squirm in his hands.
“This baby… is yours?” Sonic says uncertainly as he scrutinizes the hoglet closely. Silver the toddler with stumpy little arms and legs and quills that seem to be too big for his body but scrunches his eyebrows the same way normal Silver does. Sonic can’t keep himself from sounding absolutely mystified, “Your hoglet?”
Lancelot’s mouth quickly quirks up into a smile at Sonic’s tone and phrasing, and there is a definite proud undertone as the black hedgehog nods again, “My son.”

Lancelot tries to keep his expression impassive, but she has known him for a very long time, and can pick up on his non-verbal cues. The hedgehog's face flushes slightly at her praise, half-lidded eyes widening slightly and heart beating faster under her fingertips. She knew how much her husband enjoyed it when she dressed up, and her assumption that he might enjoy the opposite as well seems to have some merit.
“Indulge me,” Guinevere leans in close so she can press a kiss to Lancelot’s forehead, dragging her nails through his short fur, “Let me make you the second prettiest person in Joyeuse Gard. Let me dress you in my softest dresses. Let me paint your eyelids and lips with beautiful colors. Give me kisses I can see on my skin and on my fur.”
