It just wasn’t like him.
Right now, Floyd stood outside it. Looking down at his younger brother as Branch stared back up at him from inside his bunker, its hatch door open a little, with a serious look in his eyes. Floyd had a pleading look on his face in return, and a silence had filled the air before he broke it.
“Branch, could you let me go down into the bunker? Please?”
Or: Branch and Poppy plan a surprise for Floyd that they ask the others to keep.
