Summary
STATUS: Hiatus
Jayce and Viktor are hurled out of the anomaly and dropped into the field where it all began. While it seems like the opportunity for a fresh start, Jayce's health rapidly begins to decline. In a desperate bid to save his partner, Viktor makes a series of shocking discoveries about Jayce's body and mental state... leading Viktor to believe that *his* Jayce is not what emerged from the Arcane with him.
Jayce, struggling with the effects of the Arcane on his mental state, also begins to wonder if he is himself anymore.

“Doctor…?”
“Dr. Talis.” Viktor says softly. The answer is like a punch to the gut. Jayce has forgotten who he’s talking to. A spouse, in a different life. The notion alone is enough to almost bring those pesky tears back. That insane vulnerability in his brain, the tender and abused place of him that doesn’t know how to quantify such an idea.
Jayce would give anything to Viktor, be anything for Viktor. And in this universe, he’d been his husband. Had given him his name. A gift that has lasted beyond even death.

Summary
The Machine Herald is captured by Piltover after a failed attack on the bridge, and he is mortally wounded in the process. Jayce must risk everything to save him and repair the damage done, racing against the clock as Piltover hunts him down for treason, but the history between them complicates things. Despite his claims that his actions are no longer dictated by emotion, Viktor is still harboring anger and hatred for his exile in the wake of Jinx's attack, and blames Jayce for what happened. But despite it all, they still care about each other (in their own violent, traumatized ways) and as time runs out, necessity forces them to face the past—and each other—if they want to get out of this unscathed.

Today, though, Komaeda knows who he is. He knows that he is Komaeda Nagito, an orphan among orphans who lives on an island with fourteen other people, that he likes drinking Blue Ram and he likes reading mystery novels and he likes Hinata in the same way he tends to hate Hinata, and he is Komaeda Nagito, and he is not happy. He knows this in the way that you know innate things, the way you know how to walk and talk and speak. Most days, it doesn’t feel so seamless.
He doesn’t take it as an improvement.
There are things worth forgetting, he learns, as his memory comes back to him.
(two years after the day komaeda was declared to be in remission, he reflects.)
