The sorcerer frowns. Sukuna can't see anything more specific on his expression because of his fucked up sight, but he doesn't doubt it's something grandiose. If he had to guess, Megumi looks like the muscles in his face dried up like stale passionfruit.
"You have terrible taste for jokes."
"You're right," Sukuna admits, "But I'm not joking."

He thinks about how, if he’s being honest, it’s been a while, and about how this man is very hot and apparently very into him. He considers his alternative plan for the night, which was watching funny dog videos.
He comes to a decision—the dog videos aren’t going anywhere, after all.

Megumi wonders if Yuji would make the same desperate plea. If he begged Sukuna, for peace, for silence in his own mind, for him to help in this losing battle they always seem to find themselves in. He wonders what Yuji had offered in return. Certainly not this. Megumi couldn’t imagine him handing over the reins of control so easily. Yuji is resistance and will as a river is running and wild; he doesn’t think he could exist any other way. Yuji would not release Sukuna into the world. He would not leave sorcerers and civilians alike at Sukuna’s mercy, but Megumi is not Yuji. Megumi is weak, and he is in love, and he will do anything to see Yuji safe, consequences be damned.
Let Yuji go, Megumi begs. Let me see him whole and breathing, and I’ll give you control. I won’t try to stop you again.
Sukuna takes over his body, and then Megumi makes a deal with the devil.

As Yuuji walked to his end, his demon fought him tooth and nail for control. Desperation looked misplaced on the curse’s face, and Yuuji couldn’t hide the irony on his face. Yuuji couldn't say he felt bad. Sukuna has killed hundreds using their hands. He deserved to suffer at the thought of his death.
Yuuji carefully sat at the foot of Sukuna’s throne and asked, as everything around them faded, “Where do we go once we die?”
“Nowhere. We fade away. Forgotten by the next hundred. Fortunately, It’ll be quicker for you.”
His hands trembled as his nails left marks on his skin. “Oh…. That - that doesn’t sound so bad.”

This is absolutely the wrong thing to say. If anything, Toudou seems even more shattered than before. He wanders away wordlessly in a daze.
"Oh shit," Miwa says worriedly.
"Oh, I can't wait," Mai mutters gleefully.
Kamo squints at her in frustration. "Why did you let him believe Fushiguro was just Itadori's best friend? Does no one else see it?"
"Because it's Toudou," Nishimiya points out with an aggrieved noise. "Who doesn't want to see what happens?"
OR,
Toudou is sent into a frenzy at the thought of Itadori having ANOTHER best friend. Until he realizes... that's not Fushiguro is. Like, at all.
What's worse? Fushiguro being Itadori's best friend? Or Fushiguro being Itadori's type?

It was not uncommon for cursed spirits to manifest within or near school grounds. It was expected, and often monitored, which made the appearance of this ‘Yuji-sama’ all the more intriguing, if only for the fact that it appears to be a rather recent phenomenon. Any older, and such a name would have fallen into urban legend or spread further amongst the alumni and out to the public. Jujutsu Tech should have also picked up on this by now, and perhaps they already have.
Suguru would have to make sure of their involvement before he dared to humor the idea of treading on Sugisawa’s school grounds to witness this cursed spirit for himself.
“A cursed spirit answering to the whims of a bunch of monkeys. Tamed with cheap convenience store snacks and a couple homemade cookies for good measure.”
Suguru shook his head in disbelief.
♦ Suguru stumbles across a rumor of a benevolent cursed spirit accepting offerings in exchange for favors and minor miracles. What he expects to find is nothing more than another curse to add to his growing collection. What the man finds, however, dares to shake his fundamental understanding of the world he resides in.

Megumi doesn’t have the strength to say it would be everything. It was the last bit of him given away to a cursed spirit who didn’t—couldn’t—really care for him. That he had given everything else to Sukuna, through threats and whispered promises and danger, why did he have to give up the very last bit of himself that was only his.
But Megumi didn’t want to die.

“Your touch,” Megumi says, then cuts off, sounding frustrated. He moves Satoru’s hand so that it’s pressed against his chest, right over his heart, and Satoru lets him, curious where this is going and simultaneously touched by how gentle Megumi is being.
Satoru lifts a brow, regarding Megumi as the boy seems to struggle with what he wants to say.
“Your touch,” Megumi starts again, lifting his gaze to stare resolutely at Satoru. “I can’t feel it.”
And oh. Satoru feels his mouth go dry, because of course the boy has to be exactly like him, down to the same love language. Of course.

❤ Sukuna's power grows stronger with each finger consumed. So does Yuji's. As time goes on, the line between Sukuna's curse energy and techniques and his vessels begins to blur, leaving the pair to suffer with the unintended side effects.
