The process itself was less like an extension of her body, as Sun Wukong assumed, and more of a conjuration. A shard of ice formed in her hand, grew in size, and shot out once it became a point.
She continued this at her usual pace, and occasionally slowed so Sun Wukong could watch the process. "Does the ice make your hands cold?" He asked.
Nyss created a spearpoint. "I'd let you touch them, but it would probably kill you."
Sun Wukong scoffed. "I'm a god!" The air quietly whooshed around the icicle as it launched itself. "What could possibly happen?"
The icicle stabbed the tree dead center, knocking off more bark plus some leaves. Nyss didn't even blink at the critical hit. "That."
"A tree could never match Heaven's Equal."
Nyss didn't say anything. He watched her ice ammunition. Whenever she generated her ice, it levitated in midair. There was no connection to her touch at all.
Sun Wukong continued. "I have a feeling a touch would not be instantaneous, either."Sun Wukong wonders what it'd be like to touch Nyss, Nyss wonders what it'd be like to touch. Surely nothing bad will happen in a fic with this title.

Summary
One day on the surface Zagreus receives his first ever prayer from a mortal, requesting his aid in the form of a boon.
The problem is, Zagreus has no idea how to answer it, and even worse, he can only hear the prayer while he is on the surface where his body is actively dying by the second.

WOAH. crazy good. quick to toe the line between humor and heartwrenching. zagreus hears the prayer of a mortal, quests to the surface without boons to respond to her, pisses off literally everyone in the process. don't get tricked, this is almost as thanzag as it is plot. deadpan and integrated humor master class.

The song had to be about Zagreus.
She wore her heart on her sleeve, Scylla. No one who wasn't an utter fool could misconstrue her intentions. It made sense. The song came out right when the Infernal Contracts appeared, and Big Brother could charm the thorns off of a Root Stalker.
...Besides, there was no way that song was describing Melinoe!
