Hershel blinks, his work responsibilities suddenly cutting through the fog in his brain. “Well, actually, I do have papers-”
“Papers, schmapers,” Randall says, and suddenly Hershel feels exactly like they’re both teenagers again. “Sod the papers, Hersh. We’re going to the beach!”

Hershel is honestly confused for a second. Swallows his mouthful of tea. Thinks back over all the stories he’s told Randall and to cover his surprise, says, “What do you mean?”
Randall sits back in his chair. He goes to cross his arms and then doesn’t. “When you tell me about Stansbury, we’re always - happy. But we couldn’t have been happy all the time, right?”
Hershel blinks, his hand going to the brim of his hat. “You want me to tell you about a time in Stansbury where we were sad?”
