Bakugou has heard that nickname more than he heard his own name from his mother. Not that it matters. Obviously not. He hated that nickname with his whole chest. He thinks… no. he’s pretty sure he fucking LOATHES the nickname especially coming from the nerd. Though, it rarely annoys him anymore when they patched their friendship back a year ago.
So when he and Deku had an argument that set them close to zero in their relationship…
“Here Bakugo. It’s from Denki.” Deku said.
…Katsuki wasn’t sure why his heart dropped, hearing him say his name along with the Ballpen he handed his hand.

Summary
"Mr. Dynamight, sir," says a small, trembling voice.
He looks down. There at knee-height, is Deku. Not his Deku—not Izuku—but a little kid cosplaying as Deku the Hero. The costume has been lovingly and carefully handmade by one of his parents. He has a little Deku-brand green backpack that's studded with pins from the artists' booths. He's got red sneakers on—fuck, the sneakers, that's so goddamned cute. The kid's eyes are huge and full of tears, and he's doing that thing where he's desperately trying not to cry but can't hide the hitch in his voice or the quivering of his chin.
Hell, he's tugging on Katsuki's scarred heart.
Katsuki squats, so they're eye to teary eye. "What's up, Deku?" he asks. That earns him a small smile.
"I lost my mom," says the boy. He rubs at his face with his hand. "I don't know where she is. But—I'm supposed to find a hero to help me. And I found you!" He brightens. "Will you help me find my mom, Mr. Dynamight?"
Shit, how could he ever say no to that? "Sure thing, kid. Here, take my hand."

"What the fuck are you two talking about? The damn nerd is standing right beside you!"During a battle, Midoriya gets hit by a villain whose quirk detaches his soul from his body. Stuck in a ghost-like state, the boy enters a race against time in order to save himself from permanently dying. Much to his luck - or lack of it -, the only person who can see and talk to him in this state is no one other than Kacchan.
Alternatively: Deku and Kacchan are soulbound.

Katsuki stiffened. Kirishima and Kaminari froze. Basically, everyone within earshot stopped what they were doing to look at Izuku like he sprouted a second head. What did he just call him? “What the fuck did you just say to me?”
Katsuki whipped his head towards Izuku with his signature death glare as he stood up from where he picked up the fallen supplies.
“U-um I said you dropped some pencils! I think this eraser might be yours to-”
“No. What the fuck did you just call me?”
Izuku starts calling him Bakugou and it pisses the explosive teen off a lot more than he thought it would

At 14 years old Izuku came out to his mother as transgender and a week later she pulled him from school and transferred him somewhere else and started him on testosterone. She wasn't about to have her only son be bullied relentlessly and misgendered.
Since then its been over a decade since Izuku has seen anyone from his childhood neighborhood, that is until his old bully Katsuki Bakugou wanders into his cafe one morning and the two are forced to meet again.
But it almost seems like Katsuki doesn't remember who Izuku is? And his face keeps getting red for some reason!?(AU where Izuku owns a cafe and is trans, and Katsuki attempts to court the little guy while being terrible at it.)
