Atreus should just roll over and sleep and let father boil water for a hot drink by the fire for him. He should really do that, but with each button secured and every arrow in his quiver inserted he made his mind up more and more.
He can handle today, no need to put worry onto his father. He’s been sick before, many times. This is no different and he was fine all those times as well.

Atreus is sick and tries to ignore it, Kratos is not amused.

The inviting scents of honey cakes and fine wine filled his heart with a terrible ache of longing that forced him to look away. Greece was a land that he’d left far behind him, and he wasn’t ready to visit that grief now.

Kratos doesn’t miss his old life in Sparta often, but the pang of loneliness did not fail to get to him at times. Luckily, his son is there to remedy the ache, to remind him of the future.
Alternatively: Kratos and Atreus go to a new town and explore Kratos’s past and heritage.

Arrested for petty crime, Stan expects to go on trial and end up in prison. It wouldn’t be the first time. He knows how it goes.
What he does not expect is for people to start treating him weirdly after one of his fuzzy-brain episodes. He does not expect to be acquitted on account of being deemed mentally incapable. He does not expect the court to rule he be placed under adult guardianship.
And he definitely does not expect when it’s his estranged twin brother who shows up as his new guardian.

Summary
Stan released the breath he was holding and squared his shoulders, raising his hand and knocking on the door. He had barely finished rapping his knuckles against the door once before it was swinging open wide, revealing his brother on the other side.
His immediate thought was that something was wrong, because Ford was just standing there. Grinning.
The look on Ford’s face was almost manic, and the dark circles under his eyes didn’t help. Stan could see how bloodshot his eyes were even from a couple of feet away. His clothes were crumpled like he had been wearing them for several days straight, and his hair was sticking almost straight up from his head, as if he had been constantly tugging at it with his hands.
“Stanley, you finally made it!”
Stan forced himself to relax a little. Ford’s tone sounded genuinely happy, so whatever was wrong couldn’t have been too bad. He was just getting himself worked up for no reason, half believing his twin would have had to be dying or something before ever wanting to see him again.
