Summary
Hank's life is boring. Dull. Uninteresting. Tedious. Monotonous. Mind-numbingly, high-school-maths-class level boring. Nothing has happened to him in the past eleven years besides a quick foray into depression and suicidal tendencies mixed with a bit of alcoholism just for an added flair.
Boring.
So when he finds himself in the centre of a murder plot, surrounded by holistic whatever-the-fucks, he's just a little bit flabbergasted. And dreadfully unprepared. Maybe a little uncooperative, now that he thinks about it.
But everything is connected, right? Maybe this'll be the key to his success.
Maybe.

Summary
Meet Hank Anderson: senior, nearly eighteen, a walking disaster. The final year of high school is meant to be the home stretch, but for Hank it feels like a full sprint to catch up on all the time that he spent self-destructing. Not to mention keeping it from happening again.
Enter Connor Stern: awkward, cute, definitely hiding something. Really, though, how bad could it be?
Famous last words.
.
Aka, the High School AU that no one asked for but every ship needs. Just with a twist.

Summary
The revolution succeeded, but Connor was never a part of it. His model wasn't ready in time.
When the new android laws grant him freedom, he inhabits a world that has moved on without him, and a mission he can no longer accomplish.
Hank, meanwhile, watches everything around him change while his life stays the same.
Hank grieves Cole. Connor grieves the illusion he lost. They meet at a cemetery on a lonely night.

Summary
Hank isn't trying to be in control, Connor realizes a moment later. He's trying to be gentle.
And that feels even more foreign, because no one has ever worried about being careful with him. He was designed to look gentle when he needs to but not to truly be it, and so no one, not CyberLife or the Amanda AI or anyone after, has ever worried about taking care of him. Even at the squat with the other deviants, he's the lucky one with the unique face model, he's the one who can leave and work and at least pretend. The other androids love him - they're the only family any of them will ever have - but he's always the one taking care of them.
"Hey," Hank says, running a hand down Connor's arm. "You okay?"
"I'm okay," Connor whispers, and he thinks he means it.
~~
Connor deviated before ever being assigned to the DPD. He fought with Jericho during the revolution, and they failed. He's trapped in Detroit with the remaining deviants, wandering and aimless and taking unnecessary risks to feel alive.
So when he meets Lieutenant Anderson at a bar, a hook up seems like just the way to go, even if it does end up meaning so much more.

Summary
It's been two years since the android revolution, and things have mostly settled into a kind of rhythm.
For Hank, of the failed HK800 line, that rhythm mostly involves struggling to get out of bed and to do anything while attempting to stave off thoughts of what it would be like to just not try anymore. For Henry, of the more successful HK900 line, the rhythm is about keeping up with what is expected of him and trying to learn to connect with people other than Hank, his best and only friend and the object of his unexpressed affection. For Connor, a prototype RK800 only recently rediscovered, reactivated, and sent into the world, that rhythm is a desperate attempt at controlling everything in his life even as it feels like it's spiraling out of his hands.
Probably none of them should fit together. But when Hank meets his neighbor Connor and they discover they have more in common than they expect, they'll all eventually find that love binds in a way that defies prediction.
