Adaine ate another cookie to buy herself time to think of her response. She was unsure how Goldenhoard had managed to cover up her ‘kidnapping’ so thoroughly that no police had even come knocking but she did know that she hadn’t, ever, officially been adopted. There would be nothing in any files for Riz’s mom to uncover.
