A story of Mike's internalized homophobia, but when he learns to accept himself, he never knew love could feel so beautiful.

Written from Mike's POV, he learns his best friend is facing nightmares again. Things aren't the way it used to be, but Mike is driven closer to Will than ever before. Things that had them choked and left in the past—the painting, the van speech, Will's lies, rise to the surface, along with Mike's realization of his true feelings for his childhood friend.

Therapy isn't working out for Tim (possibly because he has like, way too many issues), so Dinah suggests he try music therapy instead. This turns out to be such a good idea he drafts it to his team and suddenly he's moonlighting as a rock singer in a band that's rising in popularity. Maintaining a new "secret" identity is easy enough, and he's having a lot of fun!
Unfortunately for Tim, it seems he's a bit TOO good at the secret identity thing, because his family doesn't seem to realize that it's him.
Ugh, this is just proving his point.

It’s seven at night and the party is gathered in Mike’s basement, drunk on laughter and cold pizza and togetherness. Will is in his wizard costume—well, the cape is draped across his lap as he stretches out on the couch and the tall, pointed purple hat is askew, a couple jostles away from falling straight off, so maybe he isn’t exactly in costume, but he doesn’t really care at this point, because the room is full of warmth and giddiness and he hasn't felt so at peace in what seems like forever. Mike is sprawled out on the floor below him, snorting at the sight of Lucas and Dustin as they wrestle with each other.
Will and Mike sneak away to make out.

Mike smiles. “I thought we could do your assignment tonight”, he starts quietly. “Because I have a similar assignment, and we could, like, get both of our assignments done today so we could have the evening off tomorrow.” He sounds so very earnest.
“Yeah, sure”, Will nods. “What’s tomorrow?” He knows Mike wouldn’t have explicitly said something about an evening off the next day if there wasn’t something he had planned or wanted to do.
Mike’s ears are turning a bit pink. “Our professor told us earlier that tomorrow would be a great night to go stargazing because there’s supposed to be a shit ton of shooting stars. And I thought because you like the stars and stuff, that we could go out to the field behind the art building and watch them.”
Mike is shyly rubbing his neck and doesn’t really look Will in the eyes until he’s finished speaking in that soft voice their friends called the ‘Will Voice’.
