Summary
Since his undergrad, Dr. Hermann Gottlieb has been attracted to the charismatic keyboardist ‘Doc’ of the Black Velvet Rabbits, an up-and-coming band whose members are known only to the public by their stage names. He is similarly drawn to his brilliant colleague and correspondent Dr. Newton Geiszler, whose name is all over the scientific community but not a single photo of him. Worlds collide when Hermann learns that BVR are playing a show in town and Dr. Geiszler finally reaches out to him for a long-awaited first meeting.
Falling in love through compositions both penned and notated: a pre-canon, alternate take on Newt and Hermann’s tumultuous first meeting and subsequent assignment to the Hong Kong Shatterdome.

Summary
Dennis Reynolds has but one summer left to savor before he graduates into full adulthood, and he plans to make good use of it. Through his friend Mac he is reunited with an old high school friend of theirs, one Charlie Kelly, who, though once fairly insignificant to Dennis, has grown to become rather attractive in the year or so since he’s last seen him. Dennis quickly finds a place for Charlie in his summer plans, but he has no way of foreseeing just how much that decision will truly affect him.

Summary
Hermann Gottlieb was moments from lowering the average intelligence of all his life choices. In his defense, he had lived a life of brilliance: of mathematical proofs bleeding flawless from his fingers, of exceptional cognitive abilities, and there had of course been that time he helped avert the apocalypse. He figured he was long overdue for a spectacularly bad idea.
But Hermann Gottlieb stared at the machinery in his hand, the Pons System he had cobbled together from what scraps he could acquire without raising undue suspicion, and rued the death of his common sense all the same.

Summary
The crimsoned world around them lurched as Hermann fell forwards into Newt’s chest, thoughts looping in figures of eight and senses fragmenting as the drift pulled itself apart. He could hear an insect-like chittering, a bizarre clicking sound that seemed to travel up his spine and burrow into his skin.
“This is what it’s usually like.” he heard Newt say distantly, voice awed and all hints of terror gone. “I missed it.”

"Yeah. You're like weebles. You just wobble, but you don't fall down." The silence that follows is of words being carefully considered. It occurs to Charlie that maybe they're all just getting too old now to beat down their feelings with gleeful teasing and awkward chuckles. Hesitantly, Mac whispers, "... You ever think about staying clean?"
Him? Clean? Looking at Mac's nervous eyes in the darkness, Charlie tries to envision a world where he can ever survive outside of his suit of rotten armor. His shield made of melted paint cans and his blade forged from many beer bottles.
(Charlie is rescued by the gang after losing his shit, and has to come down from a pretty bad high. A loose sequel to 'snip-snip-snickt', which you should proooobably read for decent context. This is just a shameless hurt/comfort fic, unbeta'd, and can be gen or shipping, depending on how you look at it.)

Sidney looks mortified by the thought. It reminds Charlie that he's a freakazoid, and that Sidney's one of the normal ones. Frankly, that's good. That's great. She can grow up and be kinda alright, and she won't be inhaling paint thinner at three in the morning in the bar basement until she vomits, and she won't drink alone in a pub bathroom because she's a stalker and she knows it's wrong, and she won't huddle in a high school broom closet and drink bleach and hope maaaybe it kills him, or at the very least gives Mac enough fear of losing his best friend that he sleeps on the floor between Charlie's bed and the bedroom door.
Nah, Sid's gonna be fine. She makes faces at eating bugs.
