Because it was very, very special. The responsibility of "Mike" didn’t end in just making sure that the show was running smoothly. There were also these nights, when Tenna would demand to see Mike in his room, privately. And, against his usual request, no recording allowed.

WHAT promise?! What goddamn start?!
For all Battat knew, the only conscious decision he ever made was confessing his love for Tenna! Which in itself was monumental, because he nearly passed out 8 times during the process.
And, he supposed, the dates they went on throughout the week, including the one he had thought was coming to a close!
OR: it’s been a little while now since battat was caught (& tenna somehow became his!), and it seems he’s got a very particular way of how he wants to celebrate it.

As Tenna rambled on, Spamton felt a strange twinge at his collar. The CRT’s drunken sway pulled his attention in despite himself. Tenna’s usual carefully practiced bravado had gone crooked, looser around the edges. His gestures were wide, broad, and careless of taking up space. It was rare to see the man without that flicker of self-checking behind every action– unfiltered and unafraid.
That… drew him in. It stirred something in Spamton that he wasn’t ready to acknowledge.-- -- --
