Summary
It wasn’t until the summer of 1871. Baptist and his father Cecil are bound together on a journey west from their Iowa farm, leaving the life Cecil built and Baptist only knew behind.
When bandits came to pillage their rotting farmhouse, they fled. Baptist, a young boy, only knowing the control of his father and the landscapes of corn fields, is tossed into cruel worlds. Cecil, a man ruled by his own pursuits of freedom and pride, has to carve a way of life for himself and his son, often leaving morality behind.
This description isn’t the best, but I’ve never posted anything before. Criticism is welcomed and appreciated to the pacific and back.

Summary
Before the story of The Long Dark, there was the Great Collapse.
All that is left is frozen bodies, scattered survivors, and notes scattered around Great Bear Island. But there was a time before the fall of the once prosperous Great Bear Island. Before the collapse of mines and tunnels. Before the failure of power. Before the savage wildlife took back what was once theirs.
This is a story told through the eyes of a local leading poor souls in the new terrain of Great Bear Island. Plagued by visions of what is to come and the ghosts of the past coming to haunt the residents, it's up to Mira to lead Great Bear Island to survive.
A canon-compliant story of The Long Dark, with some twists to the story untold.
