Summary
They both turn their heads at the same time and George can’t stop the smile that spreads over his face at that.
They’re always in sync.
With the other so close, George starts noticing more details about his face. Like the freckles that cover his nose and upper cheeks.
“I like your freckles,” he blurts out, unable to hold the thought in.
--
George is doing a gap year, working on an organic farm in Italy. What starts as a mission to fall in love with life again, ends with George falling in love two times instead of one when he meets his roommate for the summer, Dream.

Summary
Dream really does buy it as a joke. It’s just sitting there, incongruous, almost camouflaged amongst the other green and red Christmas paraphernalia. Not camouflaged enough, though. He spots it out of the corner of his eye, and by the time he’s turned properly to face it, the joke is fully formed in his mind. He’s shopping for the Christmas gift giving stream, and in a way, this is a gift, really, if you think about it. Which he tries not to — he dumps it into his basket and unsuccessfully struggles to swipe it from his mind. It’s just a joke. It’s not a big deal.
[except, of course, it is]
OR: dnn get together, featuring mistletoe.

Summary
He types with clunky, jointless fingers: Why am I coughing up flowers?
He finds an urban legend: Hanahaki disease. The afflicted person coughs up flowers, the symptoms slowly worsening, until it eventually kills them. He shivers, settling a hand on his sternum, attempting to ground himself. It doesn’t work. Instead, he’s wondering if there are currently flowers in his stomach, desperate to get out. Or is it the fabric of his lungs currently dissolving into petals and broken stems? He scrolls further, hoping there’s some kind of preventative or cure — the afflicted must get the subject of their desire to confess love back to them. In some cases, this includes exchanging a kiss.
He realises suddenly that he’s laughing, high-pitched and briefly terrifying because he’s never heard himself laugh like this before so he assumes someone has broken in or something. He’s in shock, he reasons to himself, the thought sliding down his spine like ice. He’s in shock, not in love. He’s not in love, and even if he is, which he isn’t, who the fuck would confess love back to him? Who would love him?
OR: George starts coughing up flowers, and the only cure is true love. But no matter what he tries, nothing seems to work.
