The carriage came to an abrupt stop, and it was clear that Arthur was attempting to suppress an eye roll as Potter wrenched the door open.
Before Rafferty even had time to think, Arthur was squeezing past him and toward the exit. He cast one, final glance at Rafferty over his shoulder, which spoke more words than anything he had said during the entirety of the journey.

But suddenly, three children—three godlings, living godlings—showed up out of nowhere, without their parents' claims, protection, or affection. They looked so thin, so scared, so little! They would be so loved and cared for if they just stopped running.

Summary
After the fight in the bathrooms, the games take a different turn and along the way, Namgyu and Thanos have a strong argument. Thanos decides not to seek Namgyu again, thinking that money and fame could make him forget, but at night, without help from his pills, he realizes how terrifying and dangerous the games were, and nightmares start to haunt him. He has no one to talk to or understand him more than Namgyu. After months of absence, he returns to the Pentagon club looking for something as simple as knowing if Namgyu can sleep at night.
Or, where Namgyu and Thanos survive the games, fight, both have post-traumatic stress and decide to start talking again to calm their nightmares.

Summary
In one universe, the Gods were blessed with children and never had to go without, using them as cannon fodder or simply taking their very presence for granted.
In the other, the gods don't have such a blessing. Instead, having been cursed by Kronos for all their children to die before they can get to know them, before they can breathe- only a few surviving long enough to ascend to godhood. These Gods don't take their few surviving children for granted or send them on dangerous, life threatening quests. Surely they won't mind a few more?

Percy wakes up in the middle of the woods in the middle of nowhere with no prior knowledge about being sent on yet another quest- not even the time limit or what he's supposed to do.
(He's on a quest, just not one given to him by the gods)
