Malleus’ eyes softened even more, a flash of vulnerable reverence glinting through, as he brought his lips to your temple and kissed your hair.
“And you are my every desire,” he whispered back, like a prayer, and you knew he meant it.
His lips lingered as he pulled away from your head and straightened, eyes still gazing at your own.
“Today is my gift to you, Child of Man,” he continued, voice soft and velvety, squeezing your shoulders in affection. “For everything you have endured, for everything you have done for me, and for everything you mean to me… today will be perfect.” His smile gained a dangerous edge, and his eyes narrowed. “That is my oath. And nothing will stand in our way.”
