After Wisdom had gone, I hadn’t been sure that Solas would ever return. In time, he did, offering no more explanation than to say, I could hardly abandon you now. Even then the word seemed to catch in my ear. Now. Maybe once before and perhaps one day soon, but not just yet. On that point I had no illusions. Solas was not a man to promise forever, though he was afraid of dying alone.
Chapters 68 through 82 cover the Protect Clan Lavellan war table mission, the canon story resumes with chapter 83.

Summary
Choosing the Templars was the best idea at the time. It isn't as much fun as Carver thought it would be.
Long distance relationships are still hard, even when the distance isn't physically that far, and especially when the people involved are so terminally stupid at expressing themselves.
Warnings for soppy letters and (late) teenage angst. And stabbing. There will be stabbing.

Summary
"Garrett isn't the only Hawke in Kirkwall."
Carver asks Fenris to practice with him, and from there blossoms a beautiful friendship in which they hit each other with sticks, drink far too much wine, and talk about sex. Everything after that is a bonus. Cheese is eaten, baths are had, and between all the angst someone has sex with an elf.
This is a story about envy and frustration, and how much Carver needs to get laid.
