To keep it short and simple, the mission was a simple search-and-destroy kind of gig. Two Timberwolves would be kept on standby at a nearby base, ready to fly out when called upon. The mission, as laid out by the Captain, was weapons free; they were going in with a bang. It was given that the choppers would be needed if OPFOR got the word out to their allies.
Price simply wasn’t ready for how soon they would make the call.

The reader takes the role of Lt. Colonel "Jackdaw" Daniels, the one and only female member of Task Force One-Four-One. Being the daughter of one of the most respected generals in the United State's Air Force, Major General Jackson "Dash" Daniels, Jackdaw has quite the reputation to live up to. It's a bit hard, though, since she's not up-close-and-personal with her enemies.
She strikes from above as the apex predator of the sky.
When the infamous Ghost challenges her position's vitality in the 141, Jackdaw is ready to fight tooth-and-nail to prove to this son-of-a-bitch that she brings the muscle in the fight. Even if it breaking bones and kissing ass.

But that very same dedication has left a lot of unfinished chapters, and 141 would have probably ended up as one of them too.
Detonating that bomb was closing that book for good, and putting it back on the shelf, never to be opened again.But just because you changed sections, doesn't mean that your past won't follow your shadow, and grudges are hardly ever satisfied.

Summary
There was a reason hybrids between human and demon were so rare. Even a pregnancy in a normal human pairing was taxing upon the mother but with a hybrid it was more often than not lethal. Human and demons were never truly meant to breed and for all successful pregnancies there were thousands of deaths, of stillborn or infants born only to die moments later from their conflicting nature or grotesque malformations. Or of purely demonic young eating their way out of their mothers and both dying as a result.
Mundus went through many humans, women abducted to the demon world by his minions, until one survived through the pregnancy long enough to birth a child which could pass for traditional human being. One which was too demonic in appearance was no use- he wanted eyes and ears within the mortal realm. Someone who could slip pass demon repellents and could search without scrutiny into unlocking the seals holding him prisoner. Something that could slip past Sparda's notice and to search, under the radar, for ways to fully manifest into the human world. For all Mundus looked down upon humans he wouldn't dismiss a tool without testing its use first.

The 141 is pushed to the limits, as they drag themselves through missions, suffer through injuries and struggle through betrayals. Learning the hard way that no one can be trusted.
Through the pain, and the hurt, an unexpected obstacle appears in the form of a Ghost. The masked Lieutenant whose appearance is both intimidating and inviting. Smoke finds herself not only fighting the enemies that stand in her way, but also the growing feelings that threaten to break down the very walls she had spent so long building.
