Leaving wasn’t supposed to hurt Dazai. He was supposed to feel relief, feel better. Feel closure. He was supposed to move on immediately after. Why didn’t he? Why did it feel awful? Why did he choke down tears?
Why did it hurt?
Was it supposed to hurt? Maybe.
