Rumi touched her fingers to her ribs. She could feel the heat radiating from her skin, even through her clothes. A distant, miserable part of her said, this is going to hurt.
She pushed her fingers down.
The rib shifted.
The thing about telling one very big lie is that it requires a foundation of hundreds of smaller lies to hold it up, lies such as "I'm fine," and "nothing's broken," and "it doesn't hurt."
Rumi finds this out the hard way.

Zoey slides her hands between their bodies, scrambling to undo the first one.
"We need to have a word with your stylist about these decisions they're making," Zoey huffs as the metal buckle opens up. She tugs on the leather until it slips loose and then tosses it to the side.
"I thought you liked the outfit?" Rumi manages a laugh despite the clear tension in her voice, swallowing as Zoey presses her hands against the plane of her stomach.
Zoey gives her a look. "Well they clearly weren't thinking of me when they put you in it!"
OR: Zoey & Rumi are on separate tours, finally perform in the same city after two weeks, stumble into their hotel room and fuck about it

Zoey’s chopsticks pause halfway to her mouth, and Mira quickly turns the sound of the TV down.
“You’re going to need to be a little more specific than that Princess.” Mira says, leaning back on the sofa and slipping her fingers between Rumi’s and giving them a light squeeze.
“About...you know. Denying me. Properly. For longer.”

Her hands settle on top of Mira’s, clench when she feels lips press against her neck, sucking on her pulse point. Her patterns flair gold. Rumi whines but it’s quiet compared to the music.
“Yeah.” Rumi bends awkwardly and moves one hand to tangle her fingers-- no, claws-- into Mira’s hair. Pulls just a little bit to get a gasp in reaction. The retaliation is swift. Mira kisses like she fights, intense and unyielding. Powerful and not giving up any ground. Rumi’s neck aches, knows she can’t kiss like this for long, but her knees wobble and she stumbles back against the other girl. Legs weak.

Mira stares at the two of them for a few seconds, trying to choke down the embarrassment she can already feel creeping up on her. “It was fine. Sorry for, like, interrupting, or whatever. It looks good,” she mumbles, twisting her head to the side. “Pretty. Very...Valentine’s day.”
“Oh my god,” Zoey mutters, uncharacteristically short, no padding to the words. It’s enough to make Mira snap her head back up, blinking rapidly at the way Zoey looks at her as if she’s stupid. “It’s for you.”

She turned her glare towards Zoey, who was perched on the edge of her seat in the armchair. “But I’ve been too lax with you, hm? You forgot that out there, I’m the leader. You listen to me. And since you decided to bring your little games out of our home and into our work, I think you both need a reminder of who’s really in charge.”
