Summary
Robin hasn’t been here before. He didn’t feel like she was old enough before, really.
They walk up to the tombstone—William Butcher. It’s older, though not quite worn. It has been a long time and no time at all, hasn’t it?

Summary
"“Please,” she says, on one of their adventures together, just after he opens the Tardis doors and they look at an old star and an old planet from the safety of the Tardis. “Let me go in here, Doctor. Let me die on one last adventure, you know?”
“Yeah,” he says, because he can’t deny her that—he has stayed, and he has stayed, and it’s the hard part, now. The part that he has always ran away from, but he can’t run away from any longer.
“Okay,” he says, and he feels like his throat is tight, burning, and there’s tears coming to his eyes, and then, “I’ll find a bright star for you, Donna Noble—a bright, burning, dying star, and that will be your last adventure. How does that sound?”
She smiles, and she squeezes his arm lightly. She looks up at him with the world and the stars and the planets reflecting in her eyes, and she says, “That would do just fine, I think.”"
There was always a reason he never could bear to stay, before, and his lifespan isn't any shorter and their lifespan isn't any longer.
Or: Fourteen stays with Donna-- he stays, and he stays, and he stays, until he can't any longer.

Summary
"He shifts on his feet lightly, side to side, as he speaks. “It won’t last. Wilf, that dear man, will be gone soon, you know? And so will you, and so will Rose, and even Shaun. Blink of an eye, really. You’ll die, and I’ll still be there, watching on,” he says, and he finally turns around, facing her again, and he is scared and he is tired, for the thousandth, millionth, billionth time. Donna’s face looks a bit hurt, a bit helpless, but he knows that she knows he is right—she has to know that, doesn’t she?
“Isn’t it worth it, even if it doesn’t last,” she says, looking into his eyes like she is staring into his soul. “Even if you get just one more minute, one more year, or ten or fifty or a hundred more, isn’t it worth it?”
He hesitates, for a moment, saying nothing. He stops shifting at all, his feet set where they are, like he’s rooted to the ground. He looks at her, and he imagines, he ponders, how long he really does have left with her. With any of them.
“I’d like to think so,” he says, so very quietly."

Summary
"Sylvie looks at him, almost studious. She shifts on her feet, tilts her head a bit, then says, “Are you—”
“Am I what?” Mobius says, a bit too loud and a bit too harsh, but Sylvie doesn’t look surprised, scared, or particularly offended.
“Are you okay, Mobius,” she says, a bit too soft for her, and Mobius worries that it is a game, a trick, but he doesn’t even know what trick she would have left to play, like this—with the way things all turned out.
“Sure, yeah,” Mobius says, wiping at his eyes with the sleeve of his suit jacket. He turns away from Sylvie just slightly, his side facing her instead, and he tries to compose himself.
Sylvie comes around in front of him, like she’s not letting him hide from her. She puts her hand under his chin and tilts his head up just slightly, so that he’s focusing on her, and it jars him. He breathes in, the air catching in his throat, as he meets her gaze.
“Is it him,” Sylvie says, her hand still just under his chin. Her eyes are searing as they stare him down. “Is it—do you miss him?” she says, like it’s even a question."
Sylvie and Mobius, after.

Summary
"I am so drunk, oh, God, and Sherlock, this is… oh, I hope this is the last time, so badly, but it won’t be, will it, and I am just as bad as my sister, aren’t I, and—I miss you. I miss you, Sherlock. I want to wrap my arms around you and hear your smart-arse voice and… and you’re too clever to be dead. You’re too brilliant and fantastic and amazing to be dead, and really, you know I have found so many adjectives, and I could find so many more, if you’d just return. Hell, I’d borrow a thesaurus. I’d borrow one, I’d buy one, just to find more brilliant words to compare you to.
Come back."
John types up a new Word doc, after Sherlock's 'death,' and he tries to cope, in one way or another.

Summary
Somehow, somewhere along the way, Ellie has become not just cargo anymore. No. No, she's no longer just cargo, and maybe Joel is no longer just the old man hauling her around, either.
