    Ex glanced at the hourglass hanging from its hook. Time was almost up — soon they could go off-shift. Their lunch break had already gone past, giving them a few minutes to shovel some food in their mouth while a younger Guard stood watch at the window. They weren’t sure what they had to eat at home, seeing as older officers weren’t particularly welcomed at the mess hall (especially not Ex), but he was sure he could scrounge up something. The chorus trees around the back of his house produced pretty regularly, so even if they were slightly sick of the fruit’s taste, they could still have something to keep their body functioning at work. The last bits of ground endstone hit the bottom of the hourglass, and Ex shifted, stretching their wings out behind them. They grabbed their stuff and moved to the window, throwing their cloak over one arm. They had no clue why that was part of the officer’s uniform considering Ex’s rank all had wings that would be weighed down by the damn thing, but he’d long since passed the point of asking for things to change. It wasn’t like he couldn’t just take it off to fly, so long as he kept it on him when he was on duty.

    Doc looked... Grian up and down, “Did you hit a growth spurt?”

    Grian nodded with practiced calmness, “Yeah. Just at that point in my life mate. So… Where do we start?”

    X had heard Grian’s voice, this was not Grian’s voice. He looked over to Doc who seemed to be thinking the same thing.

    “Grian…” Doc started, “why are you… australian..?”

    'Grian' coughed a bit, supposedly clearing his throat. “Australian fever, it’s been goin’ around…”

    “Right…” X said as he scribbled something on his note sheet. Maybe Australian fever was just a British thing? Or a just 'Grian' thing.. You never really know these days.

    OR

    Hermit-health check day is here. Grian does NOT want to do it, so he calls in Pearl, his twin sister, to do it for him. Unfortunately for him, Pearl is about a foot and a half taller and Australian. Whatever will happen next? Chaos and fluff ensues.

    Percy is thirteen and has spent six months waiting for it to start. He’s done what he can, but Zeus will not stop watching him. It’s stressing him out and screwing with his ability to see the future. He needs it to start already!

    Clarisse is fourteen and two seconds away from forcing Percy to leave camp. The kid’s not coping under the eyes of like, every god in existence. The only reason she’s let him stay, is ‘cause he says it’ll change soon. Also. Triton got them the most amazing thing ever? Pity they have to use it to rescue Annabeth.

    Nico is ten, almost eleven. His life is very strange. But also amazing. Things have been great since they left the Lotus Casino. He just wishes Percy wasn’t quite so afraid of him. When he finds out they need to go save Blondie, he’s not happy. Why should she get a redemption arc?

    Lee knows it’s started. He’s been preparing for six years, less than three to go. What he wasn’t prepared for, was for camp itself to be invaded. With the barrier failing, and Tantalus stalking the grounds, Lee is terrified. They have stolen his home.

    Georgie, Leo, and Piper are gonna make Tantalus pay for scaring Lee.

    Even Apollo is reconsidering that whole overthrowing Zeus thing.

    Percy is twelve years old and the only living Prophet of Apollo. His favourite game is making gods bluescreen. This summer, things are going to be not so great. Then something bad will happen. Then things will get much better! Being able to know the future, kinda really sucks. Can he go home yet?

    Clarisse is thirteen years old. She still has no idea how it happened, but when she was eight, a seven year old announced he was keeping her and for some reason his guardian let him? Now, when that same kid asks if she’s coming along for the ride, what can she do but say yes?

    Lee’s kid(s) are being press-ganged into a quest by an angry god. He knows what’s coming in three years. He’s known for nearly six years. He’s been preparing this whole time. He’s done all he can and now he has to sit back and watch his too young kid(s) start walking their own path. He’s definitely not panicking.

    Hades thinks his new nephew is the very image of his brother. Right down to the mischievous streak. Bringing rubber balls for Cerberus? Really?

    Dionysus has no idea how he’s ended up emotionally attached to not one, but two demigod brats that are not his own. And one is a war kid? The world must be ending!

    Seven-year-old Percy knows what’s going to happen in the future, and he dreams about the heroes of the past. He doesn’t know why. He has nothing to do with the Greek world, he’s just trying to survive Gabe.

    Apollo, God of Prophecy, can’t find his new baby prophet. When he finally locates him, he’s not what he expects. He’s possibly the weirdest prophet he’s ever met.

    Nineteen-year-old Lee Fletcher, unofficial camp leader and adopted big brother to a whole camp full of demigods, has no idea what his dad, Apollo, is about to dump on his lap.

    Dionysus is both horrified he’s been dragged into this, and full of gleeful anticipation for the coming chaos.

    Triton is still grieving his daughter. Four thousand years later, he has no interest in this new demigod brother, but perhaps she would want her father to help him?

    Poseidon and Hades are revelling in the chance to be absolute drama queens.

    (N.B.: This story has been fully overhauled as of 6 Feb ’26, and the word count doubled. While there is a lot more world-building and new scenes, the expanded story has no impact on the existing later instalments. No need to re-read unless you want to.)
