Summary
Max Verstappen, star cadet of the House of Tauren, is everything they say he is—aggressive, rude, and terrifyingly competent.
He’s also, minor detail, a guy who remembers his past life. A past life where he once read a really bad romance novel called A Way Into Your Heart. Then he died. (Unclear how. Probably deserved.)
Years later, one concussion later, he realizes he’s living inside that very novel as the future supervillain fated to be murdered by his teammate/brother/rival/whatever Carlos Sainz Jr…and Carlos’s beloved protagonist boyfriend, Charles Leclerc.

“No, I am sure it is him.” The first man insisted, the grip around Max’s shoulder tightening painfully as he was heaved forward and onto his knees. “I have seen him before.”
Max’s whole body slumped in, his eyes falling shut. They refused to open again, every breath a strain on his lungs.
There was a hand seizing him by the back of the hated steel collar around his neck, ripping on it so his head was tilted upwards, calloused fingers gripping his chin. The small pain the rough treatment caused was nothing compared to the one in the rest of his body, Max barely felt it.
“It is him. Max Emilian Verstappen.”

Summary
Charles, 27, single, architect whose only companions are cold coffee and endless deadlines, suddenly wakes up in a world straight out of an RPG game. Weird? Absolutely. But somehow, he ends up becoming a legendary hero… only to die a dramatic, heroic death.
The end? Not quite. He wakes up again in the same fucking world.
The problem? There's a new hero in town, Max, a handsome, charming, and rumored to be the son of a dragon. Everyone loves him.
Charles? He just wants a nap.
But fate clearly has other plans… again.

Summary
They didn’t really lose, Charles supposes; not in the traditional sense. There was destruction, but there almost always is. They lost a jaeger, but no pilots. They killed another kaiju. Not a perfect day, perhaps, but a victory in the broader pattern of war.
It doesn’t feel like victory.
