Summary
Nathaniel Wesninski-Hatford was born to two of the biggest names in the music industry. His whole life has been music, he can't even begin to imagine what he would be like without it. Growing up under his father's harsh guidance and then transferring into his mother's calming care was a whirlwind, and music was his only constant.
Andrew Minyard has never really cared for music. It makes him money and it passes the time, but it will never be a passion for him. Which is why he can't find it in himself to care when Palmetto Records begins to fall from grace and head to a seemingly inevitable shutdown.
He still doesn't care when David Wymack tells them that a new artist will be transferring to their label, but he can't help but be intrigued with the promise of just exactly who that artist is.
(Or, the author has a Hozier and AFTG hyper fixation and thought of this while crying to his music)

Sometimes Andrew looks at the clock in his laptop and the only thing he can think of is timezones. It always takes him a second to extrapolate and get an estimate of how late it must be for Neil. He does it automatically, only realizing he has started doing it by the time he has an answer. Neil doesn’t even need to be fucking awake for it. Andrew will just be there, in his room, finishing some assignment for the next day and suddenly remember that Neil is also somewhere out there.

“Good question.” Andrew glared at him, wrapping his hands around his near empty cup and wishing that caffeine would was more effective at keeping him awake. “Why isn’t he on my list of people to watch? I thought I knew all the dangerous people around here.”
Aaron huffed a quiet laugh and finished making his coffee. “There is nothing dangerous about that asshole. How did you even know about him?”

It wasn't like Neil was expecting this to happen when he joined the band, but then Andrew Minyard was there. A hot motherfucker who was the main vocalist and guitarist of Devious Discipline in his spare time.
And there was a moment when Neil learned that Andrew didn’t share the spotlight because he wanted to dominate the stage, just as his instinct told him to do.
So, of course, Neil's instincts told him to steal that spotlight.~
